Group Show Announcement
Group Show in NYC & New Piece: "Ya Win Some, Ya Lose Some"
I’m excited to announce a group show which I’ll have two new pieces in, opening October 18th in NYC! The show will be at a gallery called Court Tree Collective, located in Industry City / Brooklyn. Court Tree Collective is a gallery that curates really interesting art of all different mediums, so I feel honored to be included in their Fall group show. The title of the show is “Bridging the Gap”, and it will bring together a powerhouse cast of artists from self-taught visionaries to trained contemporaries, all united by a shared spirit of experimentation and edge.
I’ll share more details/the flyer as the date gets closer, but mark your calendars for the opening if you’re based in NYC. Not to mention, this will be the first time I’ll be back in the my beloved city in over a year, so I’m very excited for the trip and would love to see you all :)
Next piece of news: I wanted to share a new piece I finished this past week!

This piece was fun to make because I approached the football goal net & the basketball hoop net by hand stitching them, so it adds a new texture in a nice way. The bricks on the buildings are also hand sewn, a technique I’ve used in past pieces. “Ya Win Some, Ya Lose Some” is a part of an overarching new series of mine (which I’ll go more into detail in upcoming letters) but the concept of the series is a love letter to the subcultures and communities that have offered me a sense of belonging—from sports to hobbies and from friendships to shared creative pursuits. This specific piece is clearly very much inspired by street football experiences in NYC. It also reflects on a theory I learned through sports, but try to apply to life: don’t get too down when you lose // don’t let it get to your head when you win.
I also wanted to share some of my process during the making of it— taken in my studio by my little sister!

aaand finally, here’s the song of this newsletter: All the Critics Love U in New York <3 Prince is my forever mood <3
